There’s something very magical about running with a group. The time seems to pass more quickly, the distances don’t seem as long, and the journey is far more enjoyable when there’s someone running beside you. Even though I’ve been running for a while, I still prefer to run with a friend or small group. We don’t even have to be talking for me to enjoy it – just feeling the energy and sharing the sound of our feet gently hitting the floor gets me amped – It’s just freaking fun!

That’s one of the reasons we like hosting Running Programs. Running is very much an individual sport – you own your race times and distances, there is no “punishment” for not showing up or putting in the work, and you get to decide when and how you want to run. However, just because running is an individual sport does not mean we cannot run together. Running together allows us to boost each other up, create a little bit of accountability, and encourages consistency – all of which were part of our “How to Start Running” post.

So if you’re looking for consistency, fun, and accountability, stay tuned because we have a few running groups happening this summer that you are cordially welcome to join in on! You never know, you just might surprise yourself by what you can accomplish while you make a few new friends!

HIGH FIVES!
