With a medicine ball and a partner, complete:

200m sprint
200m squat toss
100m overhead walking lunges
100 v twists
100 squats
100 situps
200m sprint
200m squat toss

That was this morning’s buddy workout. It was about 30 minutes of people making really bad jokes about giant weighted balls, cursing my programming, asking why on earth they woke up to do this, but always making progress. The smiles and high fives at the end were a pretty good indicator that even though we may be working hard, working alongside a friend makes the time pass faster and the workout feel more like fun and less like work.

Finding a friend to help you meet your fitness goals is important – it helps you get out of bed in the morning to do the workout and it keeps you accountable to do the work well. No one wants to be called out, and no one wants to disappoint, so as you’re getting into a workout routine, find a friend who will has similar goals and will do the work with you…even if the amount of work seems daunting 🙂
