It’s winter time, which means it’s time to start thinking about your New Years fitness resolutions. WRONG.

We at Alaris Fitness are fed up with New Years resolutions, tired of gyms telling you that you really screwed up during the holidays, that you need fixing, and that only they can help you.

We’re annoyed by “New Year, New You” slogans because THERE WAS NOTHING WRONG WITH YOU TO START WITH.

We refuse to believe that losing 10 lbs will automatically make you a happier person

So we’re taking a bit of a stand against New Years fitness resolutions. At Alaris Fitness, we workout because working out feels good, because we like being surrounded by quality humans, and because we WANT to workout. We don’t workout to “earn” meals, we don’t focus on losing the most weight, and we don’t believe in creating a dangerous cycle of reward/punishment with food and exercise. Balance is everything.

Here, we aim to create an empowering community through fitness and mindful nutrition. And by fitness, we do not aspire to achieve a certain body type, we define fitness as the ability to live the life you want to live. To feel safe in your own body. To do the activities that bring YOU joy and success – whether you’re a parent who wants to keep up with the kids or fur baby, or if you enjoy hiking and want to feel stronger going up the mountain, or if you love Costco runs but struggle to unload the car when you get home! We can help you.

And our approach to nutrition is very untraditional as well. When we talk about nutrition, we talk about PERSONALIZED Nutrition – that is, we help people optimize their health by incorporating lifestyle and nutrition changes based on their personal goals and health markers. We have learned that you cannot force everyone to do the same diet and get the same results. Everyone’s circumstances, backgrounds, and needs are unique. They are influenced by many factors including environment, lifestyle, and genetics. So don’t expect any Whole 30 or Paleo challenges here…expect to talk to a Certified Nutrition Specialist.

Although weight loss tends to be the side effect of our approach, it is not our priority. The priority at Alaris is you being your best self, and that’s what keeps our clients coming back. Our Before/After success stories are not measuring pounds lost, but in life gained.
